Quartet, quintet perform at EFUMC

By Amy Rollins

Pride of Eupora’s Sax Quartet and Brass Quintet performed at Eupora First United Methodist Church on Dec. 23 during its morning worship service.

Music selections for the quartet included “Hark! The Herald Angels Sing,” “Silent Night,” “Ding! Dong! Merrily on High” and “God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen.” Quartet members were CharLeigh Hunter, Chris Jackson, Makayla Payne and Jessie Newton.

The quintet performed these selections: “O Little Town of Bethlehem,” “It Came Upon a Midnight Clear” and “Go Tell It on the Mountain.” Quintet members were Mary Gates Colvin, Chad Crimm, Javoris Draine, Areyona Weeks and Joshua Rollins.

The two groups combined their musical talents along with ringing of sleigh bells by children of the congregation on the finale, “We Wish You a Merry Christmas.”

Thank you to the Rev. Trey Harper and his congregation for allowing these students to share their talents during such a festive time of year.
