From Press Reports
Three sisters, Rachel Owens, Martha Batchelor and Margret “Meg” Hudson, got together to combine their talents in opening a new business in downtown Eupora.
In deciding a name they chose “Maryetta’s” because it has a special meaning. The namesake may only be 2½ but she is named after Mary Etta Batchelor, her great-grandmother, who passed long before she was ever born.
Just like the many talents Mary Etta Batchelor had and gave of, Maryetta’s offers many things to Eupora. It is open Monday through Saturday, 9 a.m.-5 p.m., and located at 586 W. Fox. The store also has an entrance next to Classy Closet on North Dunn.
Customers may choose from an array of gifts. Maryetta’s carries the Votivo line of candles, lotions, burning sticks, aromatic spray and more. It has decorative items from TAG. You will also find a large selection of that hard-to-find Southern Living décor.
Lotions and pump soaps from the Pass Christian Soap Co. made right here in Mississippi are also available, as are handmade bags, bracelets and much more made by local folks right here in Eupora. Many items are one of a kind.
Maryetta’s also offers a variety of muffins, cookies, coffee, hot chocolate, old-time candy, chocolate-covered espresso beans and more. Do you need coffee that is free of caffeine, acid and gluten? Then join them for a cup of herbal coffee.
Embroidery is done at Maryetta’s along with consignment. It is accepting name-brand clothing so call 744-7007 or 753-9419 or come by.
Your children can enjoy arts and crafts at a kiddie table in the middle of the store while you shop.
So when you need a snack, a place to sit for a while, a gift, a cup of coffee, free Wi-Fi or clothing come by and visit for a while.
Maryetta’s is also a part of Becca’s Closet, a national organization for girls in need of a prom or homecoming dress but who do not have the financial means to buy it. Applications are online or appointments can be made by calling or coming by Maryetta’s. The dresses are given to those in need and Maryetta’s is proud to be a part of this organization to give service to those in need.
